Ive spent a fascinating 70 minutes this evening chatting with Andrew Kent about his work using Goldratts and Demings work in healthcare here in the UK. This might sound implausible but Andrew makes statistical process control sound interesting and relevant. He also gives a lovely example of SPC during our chat using SPC to make a better cup of tea - and he discusses TOC in a way I've not heard before. Very clever chap. You can find an example of one of Andrew's SPC charts on my blog:

I've just spent an hour or so on skype this evening chatting with
Theory of Constraints expert John Parr. John used Goldratt's Critical
Chain project management approach to plan and execute the building of a
real habitable 4 bedroom house in less than 4 hours. It is a fascinating story.
Here's a link to the podcast: John's website: www.businessflow.com.au John's email: john@businessflow.co.nz More details on the house build project: http://www.goldratt.co.uk/succ/habitat.htm [btw: I recorded the conversation using skype and pamela recorder. I then converted it to mp3 using audacity. But it sounds a bit feeble in places. Any hints?]
